More Juney Junerson
Hi,
Some more pics for your viewing pleasure! Am up alone waiting for the bread to bake as I left it to rise while I made dinner and then forgot about it until 9pm. SIgh. But! My sleep loss is your gain!
These are the broids for the drawstring bags I made for Kizza's travels - sorry the pics are a bit crap. Both designs are from my Sublime Stitching book.
I did a couple of onesies for our cousin Jenny's new baby... any excuse really! I'm a bit proud of the felt applique - after I'd done it I realised I had no idea if it would wash! Did a test run with another piece, and thank gooness, it's fine. The jet is Sublime Stitching and the whale isl lifted from Lollychops. I Lurve her free downloads!
And this! Mum brought out some pieces tonight from a project my Nana began and never finished...
A head, and some arms...
Some legs with lacy socks and corduroy shoes...
And a pretty pretty dress! A doll!
Aah, the possibilities... Am imagining myself making a wunderbar Waldorf doll a la Loobylu :) But will have to try a calico test run or two before I unleash myself on this. Am stoked to have a little connection to my Nana.

My favourite - she's like, "Stop laughing and get this booger off my nose, fool." I want to eat her all up.

P.S. The Craftman (or is it Craftyman?) and I were laughing today about your having to look up the Twilight love triangle in NW magazine. I had a look at the supermarket - OK mag has a love triangle on the cover too - but with different people! V funny. Remind me to discuss my Jude Law theory with you on Tues xx

Things to discuss:
1. I'm so glad you're more obsessed with Twilight than I. Tell me when you're onto the fanfic and my conscience will be clear...
2. I found on the 'permissions' tab that we can make this blog only visible to who we want (had a momentary freak out when I saw we had one 'follower' - this 'craftman' chap sounds interesting!!) What do you think? If we make it only visible to us, it won't appear in our google readers, which is a downer for me... but then the idea of anyone reading it is also not that cool.
3. I would like to introduce you to Cleolinda. She does awesome recaps and is quite the funny in my book.
4. Also, can't remember whose blog linked to her, but I found Bakerella. Dayum, I got diabetes just reading this last night!
5. Have my second sewing class tonight. Zips, Buttonholes and hems ahoy! Finished the 'smalls' bags for Kizza yesterday and swore a lot at the method of doing the casing for the drawstrings. Will do it your way (casing first, THEN side hems) next time methinks.

9th June Photos
Those sites are so cuuute! Am overwhelmed by ideas and things I want to begin - so much I am a bit paralysed. And have a child to rear and stuff...
Here are some pics from last week...
My new wool delivery. Most of the cream is for a baby blanket for Kate's babay, and the rest is to begin the granny squares for Amy's 30th birthday afghan. Have 11 1/2 months left to complete it, so hopefully I'll go OK...
I wanted to make something from felt so had a crack at this iPod cover for Kizza's upcoming travels. Not too bad, though of course the edge-stitching is crooked :)
This was for Amy's birthday this year. Of course I stole the picture from Loobylu - was tempted to send her the pic, but I don't know how people react to IP theft these days - even not for profit :) What say you?

Loooooooooooong weekend

Hope you had a lovely weekend and your interweb is back on track. Makes me shudder to think of being without it for so long. It's simply not natural.
So, I changed our time settings so now we have Oz time. Dig it?
I am going to show you all this stuff this afternoon anyway when you come to visit me (hooray) but thought I would document it all here as well...another small entry in what will eventually be a MASSIVE catalogue of our VERY IMPORTANT works. Refuse to use emoticons but if I did I would insert a winking one here.
I tried and failed (as usual) to fit in everything I wanted to do this weekend whilst still being fully present in every moment and spending large chunks of quality time with my familial peeps. It wasn't a massive fail, though. A borderline fail. I almost succeeded...
Here's what I managed to make:
This is for mum's art pencils and paints. Did you know she's started a botanical illustration course? I ordered the box from a lovely hippy chick in Qld who has a cool shop called Spiral Garden. You should check it out. Remember those felt tea bags I bought for Soph's b'day? And she has lots of lovely, natural stuff. I don't actually know that she's a hippy chick but she lives in Qld and has a shop called Spiral Garden so I'm just extrapolating. Then I painted it and added the rub-ons then 2 coats of mod podge. Then Andrew sanded all my paint and mod podge off the edges so the bloody thing would close again. I hope mum likes it.
And I lined the bottom.
This is Noop' s new kinder bag. V satisfying project. Even if I made many mistakes and had to back track alot. Partly because I cahnged the pattern size which then had ramifications for the casing measurements. That, of course, only became evident to me after I had sewed it up. Lots of unpicking. I am OBSSESSED with the orange twill. Thinking of experimenting with stamping onto the twill with StayzOn permanent ink...
I made this headband during the week. Again, when will I learn to double check I have wrong sides facing before starting to sew? So it took longer than it ought to have but they will go quicker now.
I also made lots of scrabble tile pendants for the shop, ready to be diamond glazed. They look so cute with fabric on.
Speaking of the shop. ARGRHRGRHRHRHRHHR. Etsy or Madeit? What about GST? Do I need MYOB? OMG.
Andrew said yesterday if he had been given a pillow like this when he was a kid he would have wet his pants. Sweet.
2 of the aforementioned familial peeps. It's encouraging that Olive only looks vaguely concerned we will leave her there forever.

ZOMG Team Jaco- I mean Edward!
I *know* this isn't what our blog was for, but... November too far away and all that.
You never forget your first time...
OMG I am blogging. Feel dizzy. WOOT and all that.
Had a creative Sunday and wanted to show you the results. I've been trying to recreate Kiri's tie-on sun hat for ages and I finally managed to successfully make one yesterday. It needs a few tweaks but I'm pleased with it so far as prototypes go and it looks V cute on the Noops.
Tennis anyone?

In other crafty endeavours I managed to cover up a poo stain on Olive's onesie quoite noicely I feel.
Poo to new! I'm pleased because I managed to feed the ric rac on by hand as I machine sewed it rather than pinning it. If you get what I mean.
